laser diode modules with elliptical output beam
The Photon laser module is a self-contained laser diode module
designed as a complete OEM laser solution for industrial, medical and
biomedical applications.
Lasing wavelengths range from 635nm, 705nm to 850nm,
with an elliptical output beam and optical output powers from 0.9mW to 85mW.
The laser modules can be supplied with various coloured sleeves to assist in
wavelength and power identification. Custom wavelengths and power options are
available.
The laser module consists of an anodised aluminium
housing, laser diode, drive circuit and collimating lens. The
customer-adjustable lens for collimated or focused beam may be replaced by
other optical systems such as line and cross generators.
The modules are either cylindrical or with a 25mm
mounting flange. Mechanical dimensions are 12 mm diameter x 43mm length.
Electrical connections are made via external flying leads.

The Photon laser module consists of an anodised aluminium housing,
laser diode, drive circuit and collimating lens, either cylindrical or with a
25mm mounting flange. Mechanical dimensions are 12 mm diameter x 43mm length
and all standard Photon Module options are available. They can be supplied in
various colours to assist in wavelength or power identification. Electrical
connections are made via external flying leads.
Photon laser modules are designed for use where detection of the
laser beam in high ambient light conditions is vital, such as security systems
and safety barriers. Other applications include industrial alignment and
positioning.
TTL Modulation options are available on all Photon laser modules
with wavelengths from 635nm-785nm and output powers from 0.9mW to 32mW. The TTL
modulation input will accept signals from DC up to 1kHz minimum.
The customer-adjustable lens for collimated or focused beam may be
replaced by other optical systems such as line generators. Operating voltage is
5V DC.

 Photon laser modules with "Near End
of Life Detection"
As a laser diode approaches the end of its operational
life, its imminent failure is signalled by an increase in the current being
drawn from its drive circuitry. Typically, when the current draw reaches a
value of 120% of its original operating value, the laser diode is considered to
have reached its "Near End of Life" condition.
PM-NEOLD laser diode modules have an integral "Near End
of Life Detection" facility which is set to respond when this condition has
been reached. The generated signal can be utilised by the user to trigger an
audible alarm or an LED warning light. The circuit is set to be fail safe, i.e.
if there is a wire breakage, the alarm signal will be triggered.
The highly reliable and efficient laser modules have
optical output powers from 0.9mW to 18mW at a lasing wavelength of 635nm, power
stability greater than 5 percent, operating voltage of 3-6V DC and operating
temperature from -10 degrees to + 50 degrees Centigrade. The lens may be
adjusted to produce either a collimated beam or a focused spot, or replaced by
other optical systems such as line generators.
The PM-NEOLD range of laser modules has been designed
as a complete laser diode solution for OEM use in diverse applications such as
industrial alignment and positioning, medical fluorescence and bar code
readers.
